Tragelaphus angasi (left: male; right: female)
The Nyala lives in dense forests of Southern Africa. It either lives alone or
in small family groups of up to 10 individuals, and it always stays close to
water. They eat fruits, seed pods, flowers, and tender leaves, occasionally also
taking tender bark.
The name “Nyala” comes from Swahili.
