Anas bahamensis
The White-cheeked Pintail lives in the Caribbean, South America, and the Galapagos Islands. Birds from the Caribbean move to Texas and Florida. This species occurs on waters with a degree of salinity, such as brackish lakes, estuaries and mangrove swamps. It may be found from sea level to 2,500 metres of elevation in Bolivia.
The White-cheeked Pintail feeds by dabbling and up-ending its body into the water, to reach deeper food. It feeds on small aquatic animals, seeds of aquatic vegetation, and algae.
