Brachylophus fasciatus (female)
Banded iguanas are arboreal creatures, usually preferring trees and bushes with lots of branches, where they can best hide themselves. They are very good at climbing and leaping through branches, and can even swim. They can be found in Fiji, Tonga, and some other smaller pacific islands. Unfortunately, their number has decreased substantially and they are threatened with extinction.
The picture of the male was taken at Melbourne zoo, in May 2000; the pictures of the female was taken in the same place, in January 1995.
