Lynx canadensis
The Canadian lynx lives mainly in the northern-most part of North America. Its fur appears "frosted" to the eye, due to the white tips of its hair. Its favorite prey is the snowshoe hare, but it preys also on small rodents, such as squirrels, and even caribou, deer, and foxes, in periods of scarcity. Lynx normally travel 1-5 miles per day, hunting at a walk most of the time and capturing their prey with short bursts of speed.
