Spheniscus magellanicus
Magellanic penguins live in southern coasts, such as Cape Horn, Tierra del Fuego, and the Falkland Islands (Maldives). During the winter season they may migrate as far north as Brazil and Peru. They reach a height of around 70 cm (27.5 in) and feed on fish, squid, krill, and other crustaceans. Both parents share the responsibility of incubating their eggs, which are usually two in number. Their colonies can be very old (a hundred years or more), and consist of at least a million individuals.
