Trumpeter Swan

Cygnus buccinator

Trumpeter Swans live in North America (western US and western Canada), where they are the largest species of the Family Anatidae. They look very much like the Tundra Swans, so the best way to identify Trumpeter Swans is through their louder call. They build their large nests often on top of beaver dams, or small islands in lakes. They live up to 20 years in the wild, and close to 30 years in captivity.
