Grevy’s Zebra

Equus grevyi

Grevy’s Zebra can be distinguished from the other species of zebras by its thin stripes which reach up to the hooves, and the characteristic pattern of stripes on its hips which go in three directions, starting at an imaginary point at the highest part of the hind leg. (This pattern can be easily seen in the picture, which was shot at the Chicago zoo, in 1998.)
